After almost 32 years working for the Riverside Fire Department, I retired on October 31, 2010. During that time, I was assigned to the Operations Division and participated on the FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Team CA-TF6. I have been exposed and participate in many challenging activities and situations. None as interesting and physically challenging as the 2011 Hoka Hey Challenge.
I have ridden motorcycles for 35 years with more than 200,000 miles. I have traveled all over the western half of the United States. I have ridden to Sturgis from Southern California on several occasions.
On August 3rd, firefighters will meet at Riverside Fire Station #1, 3420 Mission Inn Ave, Riverside, CA. Kickstands up at 0735 and firefighters riding motorcycles will be "accompanying" other Hoka Hey participants and myself towards the Arizona State Line.
The Challenge begins at Chester's Harley Davidson in Mesa Arizona on August 5 at sunrise.
